Hi, I'm Deborah. Here's how we can work together.
Deborah Haywood · Sunbury, Victoria · ACA Registered Counsellor (Level 2) · Australia-wide telehealth
Whether you're in a caring role, feeling overwhelmed, stuck in a pattern, or just tired of carrying it on your own, we'll take it steadily and keep it practical. I hold a Master of Counselling and a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences, I'm a member of the Australian Counselling Association, and I work in a trauma-informed way.
"My 10 years as a carer for my parents has given me deep insight into the love and challenges of caregiving. Combined with my Master of Counselling, I offer empathetic, person-centred support grounded in both lived experience and professional knowledge."
Below are the ways we can work together.
Free 15-Minute Fit Call
Who it's for
- You're considering counselling but unsure where to start
- You want to ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit
- You're deciding which session type to book
What happens
Tell me a bit about what's going on and what you're hoping for, and ask whatever you like. I'll explain how I work and suggest a next step if that's useful. There's no obligation to book anything.
What's included
- 15 minutes by video
- Space to ask questions about online sessions, confidentiality, fees and availability
- A chance to see if it feels right before you book anything
Standard Session
Who it's for
- New and returning clients
- Ongoing support for grief, stress, anxiety, caring roles, life transitions — or whatever's going on for you
- People who want regular time to think things through and make changes bit by bit
What happens
We usually start with a minute or two to settle, then a check-in on how things have been. From there you lead where the conversation goes, and I help. Along the way we keep an eye on what you want from counselling and work out practical things to try.
What's included
- 60-minute online session
- Grounding and check-in
- What you're working towards, and practical things to try
- Plan the next appointment, if you want one
Check-In Session
Who it's for
- Existing clients who want brief support between full sessions
- There's a particular decision, a stressful patch, or a hard moment you want to talk through
- You want to keep things ticking along between full sessions
What happens
Check-ins are short and focused on one thing. We work out what's going on and agree on a next step.
What's included
- 25-minute online session
- One thing, talked through, with a practical next step
